The Maspalomas International Soccer Tournament 2008 has been organized by the Local Government of San Bartolomé de Tirajana through a special commission set up under the direct suervision of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

The FIFA rules will be applied in the Tournament, and the regulations of the RFEF (The Royal Spanish Football Federation) with the exception of the rules stated below.

All the matches will be directed by referees of the Special Category assigned to the Territorial Committee of Referees of Las Palmas and/or the FIFA.

In the XXV edition of this International Tournament four first division teams will be playing. Four very well-known prestigious European teams, who wish to broaden their sports experience by playing in a warm country; whislt their own countries are in a sporting recess.

The competition will be held on an eliminatory basis, on a single match, and the teams participating will be selected on a “Toss”, which will be held at the Municipal offices of Maspalomas.

The losing Teams in the first eliminatory will play each other to decide 3rd and 4th palce, the winners wil play the final match of the Tournament.

In all matches of this Tournament which end in a draw, the usual procedure of five penalties will begin immediately to decide the winner.

Should a draw continue, alternate penalties will proceded until on an equal number one team fail to score.

The maches will be held on the stadium Municipal de Maspalomas.

-Tribune: 10 Euros (two maches)
-Curve: 5 euros (two maches)
